Steel Belt Conveyor for Food Products

Steel Belt Conveyors are used in a wide range of fields in the food industry. Because these conveyors use stainless steel belts with hard, sanitary surfaces, they offer the following advantages:

1. Belt surfaces are resistant to soiling, and product materials can be easily removed with a scraper

2. They can generally be used under a wide range of temperature conditions (-50°C to 250°C), and so are ideal for food processing applications such as freezing products in a freezing chamber or cooking foods using steam or direct heat.

3. Belt surfaces are resistant to scuffing and scratches, so proliferation of bacteria is prevented. Also, the belts can be cleaned and disinfected using steam or hot water, so the belt surfaces can be kept sanitary at all times.

4. Because the belts are highly resistant to scratches from blades or other metal objects, they have a much longer lifespan than rubber or plastic conveyor belts. Furthermore, their simple construction minimizes maintenance expenses.

5. The belts are also highly resistant to oils and acids.

6. Steel Belt Conveyors can be manufactured in a variety of sizes, from large-scale units to the small sizes offered by rubber conveyors, and so can be used in a wide range of applications.

Following are just a few of the many food conveyor applications that take advantage of the unique features of Steel Belt Conveyors

Production of kamaboko (steamed fish paste) and other foods made from fish paste; production of frozen foods; meat cutting at meat processing plants; transporting sugar, chocolate, and other food products or confectionaries; cooling agar and other gelatinous materials; drying foods; and brewing processes in the production of Japanese sake.

If you are unsatisfied with your current rubber or plastic conveyor belts, ask NISCO about steel belt applications.
